Engineering Organizations Form
connect2engineering was formed in an effort to increase the number of women and minority students considering engineering careers and to address a looming shortage of engineers throughout the industry. Through interaction with area educators, it was determined our focus must target the K-12 student audience along with their parents and teachers. The goal is to provide basic engineering information and ignite excitement about the role engineers play in our world. All engineering fields will be encouraged.
Our initial efforts are focusing on developing a network of engineers and their companies in the Omaha area willing to join us in delivering this message. A key piece of the effort is our connect2engineering website.
We are seeking area companies willing to support this effort by becoming a sponsor. Funds raised will go toward outreach events and materials and programming. We are a non-profit organization working toward a 501c3.
